Dental anomalies and their association with the orofacial clefts were assessed in full-term babies of mothers from 19 public hospitals in Brazil. The findings showed a higher frequency of dental anomalies than described in the literature. None of the dental anomalies assessed showed any association with orofacial cleft. Data were obtained from the files of the 19 hospitals and it is important to note that only one-fourth of the hospitals that participated in the study perform cleft palate diagnosis.1. The present invention relates to a spread illuminating apparatus used as a back light of a liquid crystal display apparatus or the like, an illuminating apparatus, an electronic apparatus, and a method of manufacturing the spread illuminating apparatus.
2. Description of the Related Art
A related art spread illuminating apparatus used as a back light of a liquid crystal display apparatus is, for example, as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,902,133. The spread illuminating apparatus has a spread light source device including a light source and a light guide plate including a light transmission pattern formed of a transparent acrylic resin or the like, and a reflection pattern for reflecting light supplied from the light source and guiding the light to the light guide plate. The light guide plate is molded into a predetermined shape. The reflection pattern has a generally rectangular shape formed by black-colored resin, and a number of side grooves (grooves) extending in the length direction of the reflection pattern. An opening formed in a center of each groove is tapered from the outer side toward the inner side. Light emitted from the light source is supplied from the outer side of the light guide plate toward the inner side, and is reflected and diffused by the reflection pattern, and then is radiated out of the light guide plate.
In the related art spread illuminating apparatus, the reflection pattern is formed by injection molding. Therefore, the side grooves are formed so as to have an opening at the top end, and the opening is tapered from the outer side toward the inner side, so that the reflection pattern can be easily and accurately molded by an injection molding method.
